Terms of service
Last updated October 22, 2026
Draft. This text is being reviewed and may change before it takes effect.
These terms are an agreement between you and Andover Labs LLC ("we", "us"), which runs vCard Hosting at vcardhosting.com and vcrd.co (the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you use the service for a business, you agree for that business and confirm you have the authority to.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to use the service. Give us accurate information, keep your password and API keys secret, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for everything done through your account.
Your content
You own the cards, photos and other content you add. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and distribute that content, only as needed to run the service and only as you choose: for example, publishing the cards you publish at their links. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups, which expire as our privacy policy describes.
You're responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the right to publish it, including other people's names, contact details and photos, and the permission of the people on your cards.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- publish anything unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or meant to deceive, such as phishing or impersonating someone;
- send spam or unsolicited messages;
- break the law or anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- probe, overload or interfere with the service, or get around its limits or security, including the API's rate limits;
- resell or rebrand the service except as your plan allows.
We may remove or hide content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these terms. Unless the content is illegal or puts others at risk, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. A card we hide stays hidden until we review it, even if you publish it again.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the service infringes your copyright, send a notice to the address in Contact with the details required by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act: the work, the content and its link, your contact details, a good-faith statement, a statement that the notice is accurate and that you're authorised to act, and your signature. We'll remove or hide the content, tell the account holder, and act on any counter-notice as the law provides. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Plans, trials and renewals
- Free plan. The Personal plan is free, for one card, with vCard Hosting branding.
- Paid plans are billed yearly in advance through Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe, plus any applicable tax.
- Free trial. Your first paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and your card is charged for a year. We email you before the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically each year at the then-current price until you cancel. We email you before each renewal with the date and amount.
- Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we'll tell you at least 30 days before.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time online from Settings → Plan and billing (the billing portal). Your plan then runs until the end of the year you've paid for and doesn't renew. You can also cancel by emailing us.
- Changing plans. Change plans in the billing portal, which shows the new price and when the change takes effect before you confirm.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, your paid features keep working for 14 days while you update your card; after that your account moves to the free plan. Your existing cards stay online, but you can't add more than the free plan allows.
Refunds
If you're not happy, contact us within 30 days of your first payment for a paid plan and we'll refund that payment in full. Apart from that, payments, including renewals, are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or we end your plan without cause (see Ending). See also our satisfaction guarantee.
The API
If you use the API, keep your keys secret, stay within the documented rate limits, and use it only for your own account. We may change the API with reasonable notice, and may suspend keys that are misused.
The service
We work to keep the service available and your data safe, and we may change, add or remove features. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Links to other websites aren't under our control, and we aren't responsible for them.
The vCard Hosting name, logo and software belong to us. These terms don't give you any right to them, except to use the service.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE AREN'T LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs and losses from it, including legal fees. We'll tell you about the claim and let you take part in defending it.
Ending
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Your cards go offline at once and your data is erased as our privacy policy describes.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your account puts the service or others at risk. If we close a paid account without cause, we'll refund the unused part of your plan.
The sections on your content, refunds, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law continue after these terms end.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts in Sonoma County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living in the EU or the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in its courts.
Please contact us first: most problems can be solved quickly that way.
General
These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term, we don't give up the right to. You can't transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the service, and we'll tell you if we do. We'll send notices to your account's email address, and you can send them to us at the address below.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
